NobleLine Firmware Update

This page describes everything to do with updating the device software (firmware) of Noble Line devices.

All Noble Line devices can be updated using a standard SD card, on which the files with the current device software are stored. The devices have a special card slot on the rear panel labelled UPDATE.

To receive an SD card with the appropriate files, you can send an email to info@MBL.de and ask for an SD card with the latest device software to be sent to you free of charge. Alternatively, you can also use your own empty SD card (see restrictions below) and download the update files here and install them on the card.

1. Creating an SD card with the device software

(This point can be skipped if you already have an SD card with the latest device software.)

Take an empty standard SD card of type SD or SDHC with a maximum capacity of 32GB, formatted in FAT or FAT32 format. Download the following ZIP file and save it on your computer: MBL Noble Line Release 11 update.zip

Open the ZIP file on your computer and copy the "update.mbl" file it contains to the root directory of your SD card (e.g. using drag and drop) without creating a directory. When the copying process is complete, remove the SD card from the SD slot of your computer and follow the next step.

Note: The file contained in the downloaded ZIP file is a universal update file for all Noble Line device types.

2. Installing the latest device software

Please always update the software for all your Noble Line devices together so that all devices then have the identical software version.

Steps for updating:

  1. Switch off all Noble Line devices using the mains switch on the back of the device and remove all connections except for the mains cable.
  2. Carry out the following steps for all individual Noble Line devices one after the other, device by device.
  3. Insert the SD card with the update files into the SD slot labelled UPDATE on the back of the device. The card must be inserted into the slot so that the metal contact surfaces are facing downwards.
  4. Switch on the corresponding device using the mains switch on the rear panel.
    • For N31, N51 or N11 devices:

After a few seconds, the standby button on the front of the device starts to flash and after a minute at the latest, the display starts and shows the progress of the update. The standby button flashes repeatedly during this time. Please do not switch off the device or remove the SD card during this time!!!

    • For N21 and N15 devices:

After approx. 9 seconds, the standby button on the front of the device lights up. After a further 3 seconds, the standby button starts to flash for approx. 12 seconds. If the standby button lights up continuously, the update process has been successfully completed.

  5. As soon as the update is connected, please switch off the device at the rear and remove the SD card from the SD slot.
  6. Then carry out the steps from 3. for your other Noble Line devices as well.
  7. Once you have carried out the update for all devices, please switch all devices off and on again using the power switch on the back of the device. Your devices are now up to date.
